One app for your energy and security needs
The ecobee app puts you in control of your home’s comfort—making it easy to adjust settings, monitor your system, and stay connected to your home from anywhere. Check the temperature, set a vacation, or review your energy use with an easy-to-use interface and clear, simple views of your schedule, system activity, and home monitoring. The ecobee app is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 232,000 users on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Schedule & Comfort Settings: Comfort that fits your life
A thermostat schedule tailored to your daily routine is one of the most effective ways to reduce your energy use and maximize home comfort. The ecobee app makes it easy to personalize your schedule, see your day at a glance, and stay in control of how your home feels—with just a few taps.

Your schedule is displayed as a calendar, so your daily routines and comfort settings are just as easy to read and edit as your plans for the day.

ecobee Comfort Settings are built directly into your schedule, making it easier to align your preferred temperatures with everyday activities like Home, Away, and Sleep. For example, if you leave for work during the day, your thermostat can automatically shift to an energy-saving setting, then return to your preferred comfort level before you get home so it’s the right temperature when you walk in the door.

It's all adjustable anytime, right from the app or directly on your thermostat.

Vacation Mode, a getaway-ready feature
Vacation Mode is one of ecobee's most popular features because it's a simple and convenient way to set your home for energy savings before or during your trip using the ecobee app.

Just set your dates and preferred temperatures before you leave, and your thermostat does the rest—no need to change your regular schedule. While you're away, your home stays at your energy-saving temperature, then automatically returns to your ideal temperature just in time for your return.

Designed with your feedback
Like everything we do, the app and its features are shaped by your direct feedback and continuous user research—helping us make everyday comfort easier to understand and manage.

Alerts & Reminders
Know the moment something’s off with your heating or cooling system with helpful, timely notifications. Get alerted when your home's temperature or humidity changes unexpectedly, so you can prevent frozen pipes in winter or dangerous heat in summer before they put your family, pets, and equipment at risk.

Pre-heating and Pre-cooling
Your ecobee Smart Thermostat learns how long it takes your HVAC equipment to reach the desired temperature. If your thermostat schedule is set to reach a specific temperature at 7 a.m., your ecobee can begin pre-heating or pre-cooling earlier so your home is the perfect temperature by the time your feet hit the floor.

Thermal Protect
Prevents your HVAC system from excessive runtime.

AC Overcool to Dehumidify
This feature will use your air conditioner to lower the indoor humidity to keep you cool and comfortable if you don’t have a dehumidifier.

Supports two-stage heating and cooling
ecobee thermostats are optimized for one or two-stage heating and cooling equipment. Staging control lets you get the level of comfort you like while lowering energy use.

Optimal Humidity
In homes with humidifiers, SmartThermostat regulates indoor humidity to prevent frost build-up on windows.

Fan Dissipation
Smart Thermostat automatically runs the fan after a cycle to maximize heating, cooling, and dehumidification.

Free Cooling
In homes with ventilators, Smart Thermostat uses outside air to cool down your home instead of the air conditioner when it recognizes the signs of a summer evening temperature drop.
