Since every home is unique it really depends on your personal preference. each home can accommodate up to 32 sensors.

What about my pets?

Pets can wander freely around the SmartSensor and stay comfortable without affecting an occupancy reading.

When you subscribe to ecobee Smart Security, your SmartSensors will double as motion detectors to notify you of unexpected activity in the home when you are not there.

SmartSensor sends an alert to your phone when doors and windows are opened or closed.

When you subscribe to ecobee Smart Security, SmartSensor’s motion sensor alerts you to any in-home activity detected when you are away and the home is armed. While you’re home, the contact sensor continues to monitor your entranceways, but the motion sensor turns off to avoid sending unnecessary notifications.
