[soft modern xylophone music plays with an uptempo beat]
The words ‘Introducing ecobee Haven’ appear in pale blue text on a forest green background.
NARRATOR: “Introducing smart home monitoring that lets busy families focus on everyday life.”
Six rectangular frames appear on the forest green background forming a grid. The top left features a young girl reading a picture book while wearing headphones and sitting on a bed in a brightly lit bedroom. Sun streams in from the drapes onto the plant on the bedside table.
The top middle frame has a woman in pajamas sleeping in a bed in the dark with her phone beside her.
The top right frame has an armed ecobee SmartThermostat displaying the temperature in a dark room on a white wall.
The bottom left frame has a small dog on a white couch in the afternoon. There is an ecobee SmartCamera on the wooden table above and behind the dog.
The bottom middle frame features a teen holding a basketball and opening the door as he prepares to leave the house. An ecobee contact sensor rests on the door and on the door frame.
The bottom right frame has a man sitting on a white couch holding a TV remote and popcorn in the living room. It is the same couch that the dog was on.
“This is a SmartThermostat. Your home monitoring hub.”
A product shot of ecobee’s smart thermostat slides onto a dark blue background and the words ‘your hub’ appear below it. It is a black glass, soft-cornered thin square device displaying ‘72’ as the temperature.
“This is a SmartSensor. Your motion detector.”
The words are replaced by a floating image of the small white sensor directly below the thermostat shot. The words ‘your motion detector’ appear to the right of the new arrival.
“This is a SmartSensor for doors and windows. Your entry detector.”
A contact sensor pair product shot appears in the bottom right of the slowly-filling grid, below the words ‘your entry detector’. It displays two pill-shaped objects, one larger and one smaller, for attaching to a door and its jamb, or a window and its sill.
“And this is a SmartCamera, your extra set of eyes.”
The Smart Camera product shot appears in the top right of the shot, filling out the grid. The camera is a sleek oblong soft-cornered rectangle with a lens in the center. The text ‘Your Eyes’ appear in white on the blue background in the center of the slide.
“Whether you combine them like this…”
The top right image of the camera disappears and is replaced by the word ‘This’ with white text on the dark blue background. The Smart thermostat, smart sensor, and contact sensor remain.
“This,”
The word ‘This’ appears in the place of the Smart Thermostat, with white text on a blue background. The image of the SmartCamera is back in the top right corner and the Smart Sensor and Contact Sensor remain.
“Or this,”
The Smart Thermostat returns beside the SmartCamera and above the SmartSensor, and the contact sensor is replaced with the word ‘This’ with white text on a blue background.
“they always make this: A smart home.”
The words ‘ecobee Smart Home’ appear white on the dark blue background.
“And the element that connects and enhances each one is this: ecobee Haven”
A drawing of a smartphone slides onto the blue background and its screen slowly powers up, producing the word “Haven” in soft writing, dark blue against the light blue of the phone’s screen.
“You can’t see it, but Haven is an affordable subscription that allows you to monitor your home, to keep track of everything that’s coming and going, and allows you to do so from anywhere.”
A red brick house fills the center of the screen. It’s midmorning on an overcast spring day. The two storey house has shrubs in front of the first floor windows, flanking a black door that is four stairs above the rich green lawn. There are six windows on the second story, two of which are atop a garage.
In a frame to the left of the house a camera angle follows a small grey dog as it leaves through an open door into the sunlight. On the right appears a woman’s hands as she scrolls on a smartphone while holding a tote bag from her position on the lawn.
The initial shot of the house again fills the screen.
“In short, Haven makes your smart home, a safer home.”
“And this,”
‘Haven’ appears in light blue writing on a forest green background.
“Is how Haven works.”
‘A seamless experience.’ appears in bold below ‘Haven’ in the same light blue writing.
“Haven is Polite,”
‘Polite’ flashes onto the screen in forest green writing on a light blue background.
“Thoughtful;”
‘Thoughtful’ quickly replaces ‘Polite’ in the same text style.
“A quiet guest that automatically arms your home the moment you step outside.”
On the left half of the screen the woman is leaving through the black front door in the daytime. From here we can see the hallway with an umbrella in a white wicker basket. The partial view of the living room shows a potted plant and a white chair with a dark blue pillow.
The right half of the screen shows the drawing of the smartphone, forest green on a light blue background. The screen has an ‘X’ symbol above the word ‘Disarmed’.
As soon as the woman closes the door the color on the screen changes to light blue, and a dark blue checkmark replaces the ‘X’ and is now above the word ‘Armed’.
“No keypads,”
‘No keypads.’ appears in forest green writing on a light blue background.
“No Countdowns.”
‘No countdowns.’ quickly replaces ‘no keypads’ in the same forest green on light blue.
“Should you happen to leave something behind,”
Return to the door, hallway, and living room image. The woman is reentering the home through the black door on the left of the screen. The ‘armed’ phone screen on the right switches back to ‘disarmed’ with the ‘X’ on a forest green background as the woman returns to the hallway to pick up a forgotten umbrella.
“Haven is smart enough to recognize it’s you,”
“And SmartCamera is too: it’ll switch off the moment you get home.”
A closeup shot of a SmartCamera sitting on a marble kitchen counter beside a bowl of pears and two vases of flowers. The soft green light in the top of the SmartCamera is on, and then turns off.
“Haven keeps things seamless for friends and family as well.”
The teenage son and younger daughter seen in the initial shot enter through the black door the mother recently used. He is putting down a basketball and they put down their school bags. She picks up the ball and hands it to him as they walk into a cloudy afternoon.
“It disarms when they arrive, arms when they leave, and sends you a quick notification so you don't miss a thing.”
The mother appears in a separate frame to the right as she looks down at her phone. A notification text appears in a drawn bubble emerging from her phone. The ecobee logo and name appear in the bubble, along with the words ‘Activity Alert’, ‘Monitoring automatically set to Disarmed by Jelani’. The mother looks up, and puts her phone back into her purse as on the left side of the screen the kids close the door and leave the house.
“If you’re thinking: ‘how does this work?’”
The words ‘How does this work?’ appear in midnight blue on a pink background.
“Haven uses this,”
‘Wi-Fi’ appears in forest green text on a light blue background.
“And this,”
‘Geofencing’ replaces ‘Wi-Fi’ in the same forest green on light blue.
“to recognize the smartphone locations of family members or approved guests like this.”
The black front door with contact sensors opens back into the white hallway revealing the teenage son and young daughter standing on the welcome mat, looking in.
“We’d love to call it magic, but it just feels like it.”
‘Magic’ appears in midnight blue writing on a pink background.
“With Haven, your home stays safe, and you stay in the know, no matter where you are.”
An image of the front of the house appears on the left side of forest green background on the same overcast day. On the right side of the screen in a separate frame the mother is looking down at her phone, scrolling through information.
The words ‘Haven’ and ‘Peace of mind at home.’ appear in light blue writing on a forest green background.
“Haven knows that control is important too.”
A drawing of a smartphone with a light blue screen reads ‘Haven’ in midnight blue. The background is also midnight blue, and light blue circles radiate out from the phone drawing to the outside of the screen.
“If you're turning in for the night, you can arm your home through the ecobee app, or you can use your voice to communicate with Haven. “
In the middle of a dark blue background the mother is sleeping on a bed at night and the father arrives in his pajamas to turn off the bedside lamp. In the dark his hand appears in a new frame as he arms Haven with his phone. A frame to the left of center appears with the smart thermostat on a gray wall in the dark, and its lighting changes slightly to indicate that the system is armed.
“SmartThermostat and SmartCamera feature Alexa Built-in, so arming,”
An ecobee Smart Thermostat appears on the right side on a dark blue background. The SmartCamera stands on the kitchen table in a frame on the left.
“Alexa, arm Haven.”
‘Alexa’ appears in forest green on a pale blue background, and is followed quickly by the words ‘arm Haven.’ All of this appears in quotation marks.
“Is that simple.”
“Tucked in, you’ll feel at ease knowing that both Smart Sensor for doors and windows or SmartSensor will send you an alert the moment entry or motion is detected.”
The dark blue background is split into four quadrants, the bottom left of which is replaced by the mother asleep in the dark in her bed with her phone on the bedside table. A close-up of the inside of the front door appears in the top left corner, showing the contact sensor adjoining the door and the frame.
The bottom right section is replaced by the Smart Sensor acting as a motion detector on the marble kitchen island in the dark, beside a set of car keys.
“SmartCamera, with its 180 degree field of view, automatically pans and zooms to keep action in the center of the frame, while 14-day video storage ensures you can keep track of your most rebellious family members.”
The top right of the screen shows the teenage boy sneaking out holding his skateboard. The camera follows the teen and zooms in on him as he makes his escape through the hallway. As he opens the black front door, the contact sensor in the top left frame lights up briefly and the mother sleeping wakes up to a notification on her phone.
“And now that you’re awake, app open, dust settled, you can do one last check of the temperature without waking the baby, and you can both sleep, undisturbed.”
The mother sits up in bed, checking her phone. An Activity Alert appears from the ecobee app, saying ‘Monitoring was automatically set to Disarmed by Jelani’.
The screen splits in two and the left side has the mother looking at a monitoring array on her phone. As she checks the temperature of the nursery, the right side of the screen shows that room with a close-up of the bassinet beside a bedside table upon which sits a globe and a Smart Sensor.
“Haven home monitoring: for everything happening at home.”
The screen splits into six frames as in the beginning of the video, only this time it is on a blue background. The daughter reads on her bed in the daytime in the top left frame. The mother sleeps in her bed in the top middle frame. The SmartThermostat is armed for the evening in the top right frame. The dog sits on the white couch in the bottom left frame. The teenage son is leaving with his basketball in the middle bottom frame. The father is eating popcorn while watching TV in the bottom right frame.
[three soft mechanical bings]
The screen reads ‘Smart that makes a difference.’ in light blue writing on a forest green background. These words are replaced with ‘Start with the Home Security Bundle and 1 free month of Haven.’
Below these words the screen reads ‘Start focusing on everyday life.’ and at the bottom of the screen is ‘ecobee’ in the same light blue on forest green.
