TORONTO – March 26, 2024 – ecobee is proud to announce that the U.S Environmental Protection Agency has named it an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for the fourth consecutive year. This award recognizes ecobee’s leadership in manufacturing smart home products that enhance customer comfort while improving energy efficiency through its continued innovations.

Since ecobee created the first Wi-Fi smart thermostat, the company’s smart thermostats have continued to lead the industry on innovation, savings, and sustainability. Dedicated to energy efficiency, ecobee consistently finds inventive ways to reduce carbon emissions, design products to last in homes and out of landfills, and improve access to eco-friendly products for families across North America. To date, ecobee has helped customers save the equivalent of 28.8 TWh of energy, which is like taking all the homes in Los Angeles and Chicago off the grid for a year.

“Receiving this recognition for the fourth consecutive year underscores our continued commitment to developing sustainable products and solutions while helping customers live more comfortably and efficiently,” said Chris Carradine, EVP of ecobee Energy. “At ecobee, it is our goal to ensure our advanced technologies are designed to benefit customers’ lives and the planet.”

Each year, the ENERGY STAR program honors a select group of businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to energy efficiency and the transition to a clean energy economy. ENERGY STAR award winners lead their industries in the production, sale, and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services, and strategies. These efforts have saved more than 5 trillion kilowatt-hours of electricity over the past 30 years.

“President Biden’s Investing in America agenda creates unprecedented opportunity to build a clean energy economy, and private sector partners through programs like ENERGY STAR are leading the way,” said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “I congratulate this year’s ENERGY STAR award winners for their innovation and leadership, in delivering cost-effective energy efficient solutions that create jobs, address climate change, and contribute to a healthier environment for all.”

Winners are selected from a network of thousands of ENERGY STAR partners. For a complete list of 2024 winners and more information about ENERGY STAR’s awards program, visit energystar.gov/awardwinners.
