A Smarter, Simpler Way to Manage Comfort at Home

The updated experience focuses on clarity, ease of use, and transparency, especially for customers who rely on their thermostat schedule to automate energy savings and maximize home comfort.

Your schedule is now available in a simple, calendar-style view, making it easier to see your daily routine and desired Comfort Settings like Home, Away, and Sleep. Expand it into a detailed calendar to see the 30-minute increments that make up your day, or keep it compressed for a quick daily overview - whichever level of detail works best for you.

We’ve simplified how schedules are managed, allowing you to edit activities and copy schedules across multiple days, all from one screen. That means fewer taps, less back-and‑forth, and faster updates when your routine changes whether it’s a new work schedule or a long weekend at home.

Comfort Settings are now embedded directly in the flow when editing or adding an activity, creating a more connected experience. You can see and adjust how temperature preferences line up with your daily activities, like Home, Away, and Sleep, making it easier to fine-tune comfort without switching between screens.

These enhancements are the result of your feedback, as well as app performance insights that highlighted a common need: make schedules easier to understand and comfort changes easier to trust.

By removing friction and improving visibility, the refreshed Schedule and Comfort Settings helps customers feel more confident that their thermostat is working the way they expect without needing to constantly check or adjust it.

While the mobile app experience is getting a refresh:

• Your thermostat’s core behaviour remains unchanged.
• Your existing Comfort Settings and schedules continue to work as expected.
• You stay in control of your comfort, as always.

The goal is to make everyday comfort management simpler, not to change how your home feels.

This update is rolling out to our Smart Thermostat customers on iOS 17+ and Android 10+ over the next few weeks. Just update your mobile app to the latest version, and open the schedule settings from the main menu of the ecobee app. Don’t see it yet? Don’t worry! This experience will be available to all Smart Thermostat customers in the coming weeks.

We’ve also made improvements to Home Energy Reports in the ecobee app, offering more insight into how your home uses energy.

Home Energy Reports now provide more detailed runtime views, making it easier to understand what’s running in your home. You can now see:

• When primary heating or cooling, auxiliary heat, or fan‑only modes are in use.
• Clear visual distinctions between different modes, so it’s easier to interpret system behavior at a glance.
• Improved visibility into multi‑stage systems, showing how your equipment responds as your home heats or cools.

These improvements help remove guesswork and make energy reports more accurate for a wider range of home setups.

We’ve also simplified the temperature reports experience in the app:

• Updated charts make it easier to focus on the data that matters most
• Improvements improve visibility of the reports and make trends easier to spot over time

The goal is to help you quickly understand patterns within your home’s energy use without needing to dig into complex data.

Home Energy Reports are meant to empower you with insight, not overwhelm. By improving accuracy and clarity, these updates make it easier to spot trends, understand how your system is behaving, and make informed choices about comfort and energy use over time.

As with scheduling and comfort updates, these improvements build on customer feedback and reflect our ongoing focus on making energy information easier to understand and act on.
