Most thermostats measure temperature in only one place. Not us.
Because most thermostats read the temperature in one place (usually the hallway), this can make other rooms uncomfortable. ecobee thermostats can pair with room sensors to deliver the preferred temperature to the rooms that matter. That's how we help manage pesky hot or cold spots, and provide your family with whole home comfort.

Remote sensors are what make the system great!
I have held back buying a smart thermostat until I found one that had the ONLY feature that in my opinion mattered... remote sensors! I'm sure I'm not the only one who has their thermostat in some isolated part of the house that no one every actually goes to. So why the hell do most thermostats take the temperature readings here?
I put one of these in each of the rooms we use most often and they work great with the ecobee! Setup is super easy just remove the battery cover and bring the device near the thermostat and done! They are a little pricey for what they are but they are still worth it!dreamingat30fps on Amazon
A must buy accessory for the ecobee3
A must have if you have an Ecobee 3. We were having problems with our house not being warm enough this winter. Since the thermostat was in a room we don't use often we weren't getting good enough data. The two extra sensors were placed in rooms that are more frequently used and immediately the house temperature evened out.Adam Boorstein on Amazon
A must for any ecobee owner
Don't get an ecobee without these! They take temperature settings at different points in the house and balance the temperature based on all these readings instead of just one location. Great for homes with just one heat zone. The only issue I have is that it thinks a room is not occupied when you are sleeping - if you are having it "follow" you around the house, the "unoccupied" room will not have the right temperature if you are sleeping.Darwin Jaquez on Amazon
These are great, reliable sensors. Extremely easy to setup. Just by pulling the plastic tab on the sensor(s) will automatically make them discoverable by the ecobee3 thermostat. I have not yet tested the max distance on these tiny sensors. Right now they're within 20-30' ft of the thermostat and have never come up missing in the thermostat menu.
I would highly recommend these sensors if you plan on using them to adjust your home's temperature automatically. The ingenious or clever configuration allows the ecobee3 to use the average temp though out your home. Normally thermostats just sample the ambient temp around the thermostat which leaves you with different temp zones within your home.
I would highly recommend these if you own or plan on owing the ecobee3 thermostat.P. DeFranco on Amazon
Can you fall in love with a gadget and it's little siblings?
These things are great. I love all my little sensors thru out the house helping make the main ecobee3 unit smarter and more efficient..
I have been in my house for 10 years and always dreaded the summer months because it got so warm upstairs unless I ran the fan 24/7, and my home office is up there and right above the garage!
So having these in the various rooms telling ecobee3 that I'm up here, and I need it to be 72 degrees, please send more cold air my way is awesome. So either the fan kicks on, or the AC kicks in if it really needs a boost.
I love this system so much, that I bought my parents the main unit... And 2 more sensors as well. If you're on the fence... Don't be - join the ecobee3 family and start saving and being efficient.Indyrobb on Amazon
Move over Nest, Ecobee is king
Forget the Nest, Ecobee 3 and these room sensors are perfect for our house. The thermostat is in the dining room, a room we seldom use. Now with a sensor in the kitchen (where we spend most of out time) and another in our bedroom we get heat and cooling in the rooms we are using.
It's particularly good in the kitchen that can heat up when we're cooking. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that, with the sensor on top of the fridge, our German Shepherd doesn't activate it when he wonders around the room while we are away.Steve Sweitzer on Amazon

These are great additions, especially for rooms located a distance from the thermostat.
It would be better if the room sensors would also show the location temperature for each sensor on the APP. It is good that each sensor can be including in the logic for Home, Away, & Vacation conditions. This may be already included but I have not yet figured out how to see the remote sensor temperatures on the APP or thermostat..Jerry Keirnan on Amazon
