We’re updating our ecobee Smart Security plans and pricing to make them simpler, more flexible, and better matched with how security is used in your home. Here’s what’s changing this year, what’s staying the same, and what you need to know to choose the protection that fits your home with confidence.
At a glance
- We’ve updated our Smart Security plans and names to make things clearer, and professional monitoring is now an optional add‑on so customers can choose the protection that suits their homes best.
- Existing customers keep their current features and pricing through 2026. No action is required.
- Professional monitoring is now available in Canada for the first time*, and customers can also discover Smart Security plans alongside ecobee devices on Amazon in Canada and the U.S.
- With Activity Feed improvements, subscribers can now see up to 6 months of whole-home history, find what they are looking for more easily, and know when members come and go.
What's changing
Going forward, ecobee Smart Security offers three levels of protection:
- Core: free, built‑in protection
- Plus: enhanced awareness and alerts for 1 camera
- Advanced: full‑home coverage for unlimited cameras
We’re also offering 24/7 Professional Monitoring as optional add‑ons, instead of bundling it into select plans. This gives customers more control over what they include in their subscription.

We’ve invested heavily in ecobee Smart Security: expanding features, improving intelligence, and bringing professional monitoring to more customers. As the market has evolved, we’ve heard a consistent message: people want clearer choices and the ability to pay only for the features they use.

Pour offrir plus de contrôle aux clients, la surveillance professionnelle 24/7 est maintenant un complément disponible pour les forfaits Pro et Advanced. Cela signifie que vous pouvez choisir la surveillance professionnelle quand vous le souhaitez et la sauter si ce n’est pas le cas.

Smart Security now makes it even easier to see the updates that matter most. Subscribers can now see up to 6 months of whole home history and find what they are looking for more easily with advanced filtering capabilities. Plus, we've made the Know Who's Home feature better with updates in Activity Feed when home members come and go.

Once subscribed follow the getting started guide to get it up and running quickly.
Current pricing on active subscriptions will remain in effect until January 2027, provided your subscription remains active and unchanged. Any plan changes including plan modifications, add‑on changes, cancellation, or lapse in service, will result in an immediate move to current pricing and permanent loss of loyalty discounts. 24/7 Professional Monitoring is a paid add‑on and subject to availability and additional terms.
