With 2021 finally here, New Year’s resolutions are on many people’s minds–ours included.

At ecobee, we’re always thinking about the steps you can take to make your home more comfortable, safe, and eco-friendly. This year, we hope to see the return of using our homes for more things like entertaining and gathering with family and friends, and January is a great time to think about what you can do to improve and invest in your home.

Here are our top five resolutions to make for your home in 2021.

1. Make your home more safe and secure.

As life begins to slowly get back to normal and more people are coming and going from your home, it’s more important than ever to make your home a safe and secure haven. ecobee’s line of smart cameras and sensors can help you keep an eye on what’s happening in your home when you’re not there, as well as alerting you to any entrances or departures.

2. Commit to making your home more energy efficient.

There’s no better time than the present to take steps to lower your environmental footprint. ecobee thermostats not only conserve energy, but also save users up to 23%* on annual energy costs. In many areas you’ll even get rewarded for going green: utility providers often offer customers a rebate to reduce their electricity use during peak periods. 3. Work on a new home improvement project or renovation.

Whether it’s a small project or a major renovation, 2021 is the year to commit to getting it done. ecobee offers a number of product solutions to help make your new and improved home secure, comfortable, and eco-friendly. 4. Prioritize clean air in your home.

The quality of the air we breathe has never been more important. While we can all do our part to improve air quality by biking or walking to the store instead of driving, improving the air quality inside our homes often goes overlooked. An air filter delivery subscription helps solve that issue. Just like many of your favourite delivery services, air filters will be delivered to your door on a regular basis to ensure the freshest indoor air for you and your family.

5. Declutter your home and your life.

2020 was an intense year, to say the least. With most of us spending more time at home than ever, it’s probably safe to say that our homes (and overall lives) could use some decluttering. The usual suspects, like closets, cupboards, and drawers could all benefit from a good round of “Keep/Donate/Discard,” but other places like garages, sheds, and even your car could probably benefit from a little decluttering too.
