How to participate in Earth hour with your ecobee3

This Saturday, people around the World will participate in Earth Hour to raise environmental awareness. The Global mission is turn off as much power as you can and focus on your commitment to climate action for the rest of this year. Participating helps create a visible symbolic act around the World. Here at ecobee we want you to lend your hand and create a setting for your ecobee3 to participate in this years Earth Hour:

-Go into the Main Menu and select “Vacation”

– Select the “Add” icon at the top right

– Select “I depart” > “Departure date”, and slide the middle (number) column up to the 19th and select “Save” at the bottom right.

– Select “Departure Time”, slide the hour to 8, the minutes to 30 and the make sure you’ve select “PM”. Select “Save” at the bottom right.

– Select “I return on”, then select “Return date”, and slide the middle (number) column up to the 19th and select “Save” at the bottom right.

– Select “Return Time”, slide the hour to 9, the minutes to 30 and the make sure you’ve select “PM”. Select “Save” at the bottom right.

– Select “Vacation Settings”, and select OFF for both Heat and Cool. Make sure you “Minimum fan runtime” is set to 0.

– Select the back arrow at the top left side of the screen, and select “Save” at the bottom right.

Last year over 170 countries and territories had confirmed their participation; with more than 1200 landmarks and close to 40 UNESCO world heritage sites set for the switch off. Let’s help make this year’s Earth Hour even better!
