Feature Friday: AC Overcool
byon May 29, 2015
A/C Overcool uses the air conditioner to reduce the humidity in your home. It does this by cooling your home beyond the desired temperature in the currently used Comfort Setting, until the preferred humidity set point is reached. While this feature is not a complete substitute for a dehumidifier, it is still helpful for homeowners who don’t have a dehumidifier but want to reduce indoor humidity.
The amount the system will cool your house beyond the desired temperature in the currently used Comfort Setting is determined by the desired temperature itself. For example, if your ideal cooling temperature is 75 Fahrenheit, and you input a 2 Fahrenheit Overcool Maximum, it will allow your air conditioner to overcool your home to 73 Fahrenheit if the humidity preference set point has not been met.
To create these thresholds and set points on your thermostat tap the Main Menu icon > Select Settings > Installation Settings > Thresholds > AC Overcool Max.
